Philodendron Brasil

The Philodendron Scandens Brasil has a cheerful yellow line along the length of the leaf.
With the heart-shaped leaves, it is also called the ‘sweetheart plant’.

As the name suggests, the Philodendron Brasil is originally from Brazil.
But the plant can also be found in nature in other South American countries.

To get the most out of your plant, it’s preferred to place the Brasil in a spot with indirect sunlight.
You can also give the plant a little more shade, but it is possible that the striking leaf drawing for which the plant is known will decrease.
Make sure that the Philodendron Scandens Brasil gets enough water.
Watering once a week is usually sufficient. Let the soil dry for at least 50% before you water the plant again.
Do the leaves turn yellow? It’s likely you’re giving the plant too much water.

If you want the Philodendron Brasil to stand out well, there are two good options.
Let the plant hang from a high height, for example by placing the plant on a high cabinet.
Or let the plant climb onto a moss pole of a bamboo rack. The Brasil is an excellent climber.
